Our vision as a church is to be Christ in the community so all will see the HOPE that is available to them. We do this as we: Praise, CONNECT, and Serve. You are always invited to join us as we CONNECT with our God and with others!
GATHER & GROW
Jesus Rocks! - Each Wendesday Friday we host Jesus Rocks! for all the young children enrolled at The Children's Lighthouse. Our time together is filled with singing, scripture, prayer and loads of fun! Now we are offering Jesus Rocks: Sunday Edition, every Sunday at 11:30 am in our Worship Center. It's a perfect fit for families with young children as well as anyone who is young at heart!
- Adult Sunday Class Small Group: We meet every Sunday morning at 8:45 am in the Children’s Lighthouse Lobby. Great topics throughout the year and lively discussions. Resources used includes the Bible (of course!), book studies and sometimes video. Facilitated by Pastor Rick, Regan & Carol Krause.
- Young Families Small Group: Looking for an opportunity to gather with other parents of young children to share struggles, joys and parenting tips? The Young Families Small Group might be worth checking out! They will meet after church on the second Sunday of the month, and will be facilitated by Juliann & Emmanuel Sidabutar.
- Paper Crafting Small Group: Like to make cards and other paper crafting projects? Then the Paper Crafting Small Group is for you! We will meet in the Faith House on the fourth Saturday morning of the month, from 10am – noon to make cards that will be used to send to our members and friends (for birthdays, anniversaries, thinking of you, sympathy, etc). This group will be facilitated by Julie Frank. Stop at Welcome Station today for more details on these Small Groups, and/or if you have ideas for additional Small Groups!
Warrior Roadhouse - This outreach ministry with students mostly from West Orange High School. It includes Wednesdays Roadhouse (HS) & After Hours (post HS) groups, Thursday afternoon Bible Study, and Friday Table Top Club.
“The Roadhouse” is an after-school ministry offered by People of Faith to high school students on Wednesdays after school. It was designed with West Orange High School students in mind, but students from any school are welcomed to join us. Students can expect to find a diverse group of students ready to welcome anyone who visits. You will usually find a football game going on outside, people playing ping pong, pool, or cornhole, and a number of people sitting around and talking or playing cards. You can also expect to be enthusiastically greeted and offered a hot dog and soda. Other after school Small Groups have developed out of the Wednesday gatherings, including a Bible Study (Thursdays) and TTC (Table Top Club - Fridays ), and "After Hours," which is for post high school youth (Wednesday evenings).
While “The Roadhouse” is a ministry of the church, we work hard to make sure that all students feel welcome regardless of religious convictions. Above anything else, The Roadhouse is a safe place where students of any background, belief, race, gender or sexual orientation can come, have fun, and be embraced by a community of their peers. The Roadhouse is also committed to helping students find a church community. We are happy, of course, to have students join us at People of Faith for worship. In addition, we have students from numerous churches and youth groups that attend. If People of Faith is not the right fit, we encourage students to find another faith community in the area and are committed to helping them in that.
Whether you are looking to explore questions of faith or just meet some new people, we hope you will join us at the Warrior Roadhouse. We are open from 1:15-5:00 on Wednesdays during the school year. Contact Neftali Medina Neftali@PeopleofFaith.org for more information, or to become a Roadhouse volunteer.
